information regarding the following SACRAMENTS
OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH, please

regarding each Sacrament is as follows:
BAPTISM - Two (4)
sessions with parent(s) required. At
least one God-parent must be a practicing
Catholic and attend at least one session.
PENANCE/RECONCILIATION
- Children must be in at least second
grade and have participated in a
religious education program two years
before making their First
Confession/Reconciliation. This
preparation is generally done during the
same years as preparation for First
Communion. A certificate of
Baptism is required prior to First
Confession. Parents are expected to
participate in the preparation of their
children, and to attend parent sessions
prior to celebration of the sacrament.
FIRST COMMUNION/EUCHARIST
- Children must be in at least second
grade and have participated in a
religious education program two years
before receiving First Eucharist. This
preparation is generally done during the
same years as the preparation for First
Confession/Reconciliation. A
certificate of Baptism is required prior
to First Communion. Parents are expected
to participate in the preparation of
their children, and to attend parent
sessions prior to celebration of the
sacrament.
CONFIRMATION -
Candidates in the Diocese of Jackson must
be in at least the tenth or eleventh
grade. St. Francis Parish also requires
participation in a religious education
program for two years prior to
Confirmation, a minimum of 40 service
hours, and a certificate of
Baptism prior to Confirmation.
MARRIAGE - Couples
planning for the Sacrament of Marriage
are asked to contact the Pastor at least
6 (six) months prior to the planned
wedding date. Couples are requested to
attend an Engaged Encounter weekend;
complete a pre-marital inventory called
"Foccus" (Facilitating Open
Couple Communication, Understanding and
Study); and attend four (4) preparation
sessions.
ANOINTING OF THE SICK
- This Sacrament is administered by a
priest. Arrangements can be made by
